    This article is the product of research on the Movement of Adolescents and Children - MAC, comprising the religious, social and political context in which it emerged, the methodology used to develop work with children and adolescents in Brazil, based on experience. from Olinda / PE. The initiative to do this work came from the Catholic Church together with the laity. The Movement defined as its main objective the construction of alternatives to dignify childhood in countries with high rates of social exclusion, using games and instruments of regional popular culture and a critical reading of the gospel, in which the ex-cluded should be prioritized. The work was performed in groups that defined their performance based on the contributions of the children who participated in them, seeking a more dignified life, building alterna-tives to the difficulties faced in the daily lives of adolescents and children who suffered the consequences of social exclusion.
