    Jogos populares: uma revisão bibliográfica

    The practice of popular games has been forgotten by new generations of children and adolescents, who are often unaware or superficially aware of such games. Therefore, this study aims to investigate how the theme of popular games is found within the production of knowledge as content of physical education. For this, we seek to identify how the game emerged, how it developed historically, and how it is presents today. In addition, to describing it is characteristics and classifications, and we analyze as content of physical education and how to treat it pedagogical. This study consists of qualitative research of a bibliographic, carried out in the periodicals of Movimento Magazine (UFRGS) and Magazine of the Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Program in Leisure Studies (LICERE). After selecting and analyzing the articles found, it was found that few studies were related to popular games. From the results found, we can see those popular games, despite their great value for education and their importance as an element of popular culture, continue to lose space for other practices. We emphasize that the topic is quite broad and further studies will be needed before a complete understanding of this phenomenon.
