Facebook, uma ferramenta propícia à criação de estrangeirismos em língua portuguesa

This research results from a study about the Facebook network as a space conducive to the creation and proliferation of foreign expressions in the Portuguese language, which, like all languages, is a living organ that develops in accordance with external influences and the forms of use that are in the course of time. The research carried out had as subjects high school students, in order to know to what extent they are aware of how much words and expressions from a foreign language and its variations are used by them and how and if these words and expressions can, including analyzing how the process of consolidation of certain slang, that appear under the modality of linguistic loan or of foreignism, takes place. The analysis of the speeches of the subjects surveyed points to a domain relationship in which the predominant language is English, which reflects the dominance that American culture exerts not only in our country, but throughout the world.
