Item Mastite bovina: principais etiologias infecciosas e estratégica de controle(2018-08-27) Silva, Marcílio Jair Araujo; Coutinho, Tania Alen; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1916619528141219Mastitis in an inflammatory process of the mammary gland, the causes of which may include physical etiologies (mechanical traumas of the mammary structure or chemical injury from contact with corrosive substances), hormonal etiologies (pituitary disorders, for example) and infectious diseases (bacterial, yeast, viral infections). This condition in cattle causes great harm to dairy farmers, which corresponds to the reduction in the total milk production of the affected animal, milk discarding due to the use of antibiotics, expenses with medicines and veterinary fees, reduction of milk quality and, consequently, the reduction of the price paid by the dairy industries. Front of the problems caused by bovine mastitis, there is a need to combat it, and its prevention at critical points in pre-gate milk production is the best alternative to optimize the health and well-being of cows, as well as the costs and production profits. Therefore, it was the aim of this monograph to review the theme.
