In the preservation of assets, movable / immovable, whether natural, historic, cultural or artistic, knowledge about them is of fundamental importance. The paleontological heritage dealing specifically with the elements related to the fossil material, as subdivision of the geological heritage, maintaining a balance and a use of quality scientific research. The objective of this work is to report the experience in the Laboratory of Paleontology (LPU) of the Regional University of Cariri (URCA), considering as a paleontological patrimony in the middle of the transformation and developments in the social, economic and cultural spheres of Cariri region, covering in its totality the Araripe Sedimentary Basin. During the period of Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO), requested in the course of Fishing Engineering UFRPE/UAST. In the course of the stage it was possible to follow several activities developed about Paleontology, I understand how the processes of discovery work in recovering as much information as possible about the history of life on Earth, from the organisms that populated the planet in the geological past, besides knowing on the dynamics of aquatic ecosystems, and climate change, such as understanding the historical, cultural, the preservation and conservation of the paleontological heritage that constitutes the identity of the people in the region.
