Item Associação de bupivacaína, dexmedetomidina e dexametasona no bloqueio ecoguiado do quadrado lombar para colecistectomia em felino - Relato de caso(2024-07-31) Silva, Marianne de Lira Lemos; Silva, Elayne Cristine Soares da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2064359935012193; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8856532800511907The Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO), a mandatory subject of the Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Medicine at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE), has a workload of 420 hours and can be characterized as a professional qualification activity for the student in the last period of the course, applying their acquired knowledge and qualifying them for professional practice. This report is divided into two chapters. The first chapter describes all the activities that were monitored during the ESO period by the student, between the period of April 1, 2024 to June 14, 2024, at the Caminho dos Bichos Veterinary Clinic, located in the Espinheiro neighborhood, Recife/PE. The second chapter will report the case of a domestic feline that underwent anesthesia and surgery called cholecystectomy, in which the ultrasound-guided locoregional blockade of the quadratus lumborum (QL) was performed, using the combination of bupivacaine (local anesthetic), dexmedetomidine (alpha 2 agonist) and dexamethasone (corticosteroid). Locoregional anesthesia has been widely used in veterinary medicine, as it allows the reduction of general anesthetics for a favorable intraoperative period, in addition to reducing the use of analgesics in the postoperative period and their side effects. In this reported case, according to the monitored parameters, no pain was observed, as assessed by the UNESP-Botucatu multidimensional scale. Ultrasonography ensured that the technique was performed successfully, anatomically identifying the muscles. Thus, the blockade can be performed safely, being effective for celiotomy and cholecystectomy.Item Avaliação do potencial antitumoral in vitro e da atividade imunomoduladora do composto mesoiônico 5-(4-clorofenil)-3-metil-4-fenil-1,3-tiazólio-2-tiolato (MI-2)(2020-11-04) Andrade, Bárbara Fernanda Pessoa de; Silva, Elayne Cristine Soares da; Andrade, Jeyce Kelle Ferreira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8970644656035762; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2064359935012193; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8580695386267290Cancer is classified by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a group of diseases, wich can develop anywhere in the body, from the uncontrolled grownth of genetically altered cells and wich have the ability to invade adjacent tissues and can therefore, if install simultaneously in more than one organ. It is considered by WHO as the second leading cause of death in the world, killing about 9.6 million people. In Brazil, according to the National Cancer Institute (INCA), it is estimated that in 2020 309,750 new cases of cancer will be registered for men and about 316,280 new cases for women. Cancer patients are usually treated with chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgical intervention and in some cases, immunotherapy. In view of the high cost and the remarkable toxicity presented by the vast majority of treatments currently available, such as weight loss and hair, in addition to anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia and immunosuppression that make them extremely vulnerable; the search for new therapeutic possibilities is necessary to increase the chances of cure and quality of life. Mesoionic compounds are a group of substances defined as heterocyclic betaines, mostly of synthetic origin, biologically active and wich have been widely studied for their chemical characteristics and diverse functions, among which the antitumor potential, which has been the object of prominence, stands out of numerous surveys. The compound used in the present work (MI-2) is one of the derivatives of the thiadiazole class mesoionics called 5-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-methyl-4-phenyl-1,3-thiazolium-2-thiolate. The objective of this work was to analyze the antitumor potential of this compound, evaluating the cytotoxicity in tumor cell lines, morphological characteristics of these cells, DNA fragmentation; in addition to the analysis of cytotoxicity in cells of the imune system of rats (Rattus novergicus). The results presented so far, demonstrate satisfactory responses in antitumor evaluation tests, especially for leukemias; and a probable low toxicity in isolated rat lymphocytes. This compound is part of an ongoing research project.Item Implantação de derivação ureteral, guiada por ultrassonografia, em dois gatos com obstrução ureteral(2022-06-03) Souza, Émille Mergulhão de; Silva, Elayne Cristine Soares da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2064359935012193; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4717078631501440Item Melanoma amelanótico oral em um cão da raça Golden Retriever - Relato de caso(2022-09-30) Rodrigues, Beto Cherles Coral; Silva, Elayne Cristine Soares da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2064359935012193; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9837284907050552The Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO) is a mandatory subject of the Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Medicine at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE), which aims to offer the student practical experience and professional improvement. The experience was held from June 26 to September 9, 2022, at the Clínica Oncologica Veterinaria do Recife (CORe), located at Rua Antônio Viera, 245, Madalena, Recife/PE. This report is divided into two chapters. The first describes the activities followed by the student Beto Cherles Coral Rodrigues during the ESO and the second chapter aimed to report the case of a Golden Retriever dog with oral amelanotic melanoma, also followed during the ESO period. . The choice of this case was due to the importance of immunohistochemistry in the conclusive diagnosis of this melanoma. During this period of ESO, it was possible to know a little about the clinical and surgical routine in veterinary oncology; work multidisciplinary with specialists involved in cancer cases; and gain experience in approaching patients and their tutors.Item Uso da eletroquimioterapia no melanoma oral em cão - Relato de caso(2022-06-01) Santos, Karolline Gomes da Rocha; Silva, Elayne Cristine Soares da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2064359935012193This report is divided into two chapters. The first describes the activities followed during the Mandatory Supervised Internship, from February 14, 2022 to May 5, 2022, at the Caminho dos Bichos veterinary clinic, located in Espinheiro, in the city of Recife/PE. The second chapter aimed to report the case of a dog with oral melanoma that was treated during the aforementioned internship period and treated with electrochemotherapy associated with surgery. Oral melanoma is one of the most incident and aggressive types, and can cause metastases. Surgical treatment is the most used, and there is often difficulty in establishing safety surgical margins without loss of function and acceptance of the result, from an aesthetic point of view, by tutors. Electrochemotherapy (EQT) can be chosen as a single treatment or complementary to surgery, in cases when there is no possibility of removing the tumor with safety margins or when the tutor does not agree with the surgical treatment. EQT enhances chemotherapy by electroporation of the cytoplasmic membrane through electrical pulses, allowing the death of cancer cells without reaching normal cells, that is, healthy cells, which demonstrates an even greater safety in the treatment. In the case reported, the patient underwent surgery associated with EQT, demonstrating improved quality of life, mainly because it is an elderly dog with compromised surgical margins.
