    It is known that a greater variety of products and the expansion of destinations forthe exports of Pernambuco can improve its performance and help the state to enter the international market. Thus, the present study aims to characterize and analyze the composition and structure of the Pernambuco exports, as well as to identify the products that have the highest export potential in the state. These indicators could assist policy makers in decision making in order to improve the state trade performance with other countries.Oursdata are from the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services (MDIC), State Planning and Research Agency of Pernambuco(CONDEPE-FIDEM) and Central Bank of Brazil(BACEN),we used those data to estimate and verify the behavior of Revealed Comparative Advantage Indices (IVCR), Intra-industry Trade Indices (CII), Intra-Industry Trade Aggregate (CIIA), Index of Concentration by Destination Countries (ICD) and Indicators of Concentration of Exports (ICP), to the state. As well as the degree of commercial openness.
