Religion is a very debated topic among the Social Sciences for decades, and its existence has already been a subject of studies by numerous theorists. Consequently, it is also important to pay attention to the rise of new religious movements that are constantly growing in our society. Therefore, this article presents an analysis of Discordianism, under the look of the social sciences, particularly the look of antropology and its studies about religion, besides introducing an array of ideas, symbols, myths, and Discordian creeds. To achieve this goal, this article was consctructed through a documentary analysis of what would be the sacred text of this new religio, the Principia Discordia. Wrote by Gregory Hill and Kerry Wendell Thornley under the pseudonym Malaclypse the Younger and Omar Khayyam Ravenhurst respectively, which were the founders of Discordianism, To then point out what in fact chracterizes Discordianism as a religion.
