Disputas, mistura e transformações identitárias: o processo de formação do lugar de Águas Belas e do Aldeamento dos Carnijó, em Pernambuco, entre as décadas de 1650 e 1760

Between 1654, after the expulsion of the Dutch, and 1760, during the administration of the Marquis of Pombal (1750-1777), several processes were carried out within the captaincy of Pernambuco, which directly interfered in the organization and way of life of the indigenous people. The indigenous people who inhabited the region of the current municipality of Águas Belas, in the countryside of Pernambuco, went through processes of contact, re-elaboration of identities, formation of alliances and conflicts over land, appropriating the colonial mechanisms, according to the limitations imposed and their interests. In this way, this article has as main objective the analysis and interpretation of these relational processes and disputes over land, between the decades of 1650 and 1760, in the formation of the place of Águas Belas and the Carnijó village.
