Item Rio Marié: rio de gigantes(2017-07) Pires, Éverton Luís; Oliveira, Paulo Guilherme Vasconcelos de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5700488412022830; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7517851859591874The idea of working as a fishing guide came from an old feeling and willingness to work professionally with what you really enjoy. Allied to the passion for fishing since childhood and a great desire to know the Amazon, this dream was possible through the realization of this trainee experience supervised by the company Untamed Angling do Brasil, in the waters of Marié River. Marié River is a tributary of the Rio Negro and is located in the border regions with Colombia and Venezuela, northwest of the Brazilian Amazon. It has more than 800 kilometers navigable, with more than 180 known streams, 60 lakes, and three main tributaries, being all this protected area, inserted in an indigenous territory. This project was born through a reference term proposed by the competent authorities that invited fishing tourism companies interested in presenting work proposals to solve the problem of fishing disorganization in the region by companies that disregarded local communities and established precarious contracts. With this term of reference, 14 local communities were benefited, generating a capital of around R $ 170 thousand per year in salaries alone, with more than 1.2 thousand beneficiaries and the various infrastructure improvements made in the communities. Today, the Marié River stands out as the first reserve of sport fishing legally exclusive of the entire Amazon, inserted in an indigenous territory. This advance in favor of Brazilian sport fishing has served as a model for other fishing operations that seek the sustainability of local communities and high quality that will satisfy even the most demanding fishermen. In order to maintain the IBAMA's merit of being the river with the largest tucunarés in the entire Rio Negro, monitoring should be done throughout the season and data analyzed by the competent bodies to evaluate fishing effort, inventory capacity and the continuity of the the fishing operation. The fishing guides who work in the Marié River are passive to a process of mutual learning, where local knowledge is mixed with global knowledge, by living with indigenous guides and tourists from all over the world. All the technical knowledge transmitted to the tourists by the fishing guides must be allied with the empirical knowledge transmitted by the indigenous guides, thus ensuring the success of the catches. During the fishing season, professional fishing guides are responsible for piloting the fishing vessel, assisting the amateur fisherman in catching the fish and returning it to its environment, using the best baits, interpreting the environment specific to the environment Aquatic, as well as other correlated actions in the sport fishing exercise.
