    Os jogos na Sociologia: uma leitura a partir de Roger Caillois (1913-1978)

    This monograph proposes to present the essay "Man, Play and Games" (1990), of the French sociologist Roger Caillois (1913-1978). Its main objective is to investigate the reception of the Caillois game theory in the area of Social Sciences in Brazil, making a synthesis of the theory and contextualizing the essay with the other productions of the author. Through the bibliographical research and the documentary analysis, it was possible to verify that the theory of the games of Roger Caillois is not discussed in the country, in the scope of the Social Sciences. It was also possible to verify the applications or resignifications of the theory from the analysis of theoretical and empirical researches produced contemporaneously in Brazil in other areas of knowledge.
