Item Plantas usadas nos tratamentos cosméticos no Nordeste do Brasil: Uma revisão(2022-10-06) Lima, Amanda Mourato de Souza; Silva, Valdeline Atanazio da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7112874436105706; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0602970889196670The use of cosmetics by humans dates back to ancient times. At first, cosmetics were basically composed of plants, animals and minerals, however, with the evolution of technology, new chemical substances emerged to be added in the production of such products. This research is a literature review, and data collection in the literature was carried out using the following descriptors: Ethnobotany and cosmetics and caatinga; Ethnobotany and cosmetics and northeast; Ethnobotany and cosmetics and semiarid; Ethnobotany and caatinga; phytocosmetics and caatinga; "phytocosmetics and semiarid. A total of 63 plant species were cited for cosmetic use, of which the most cited were: Sarcomphalus joazeiro (19 times), Aloe vera (14), Guazuma ulmifolia (6) and Persea americana (3). A total of 34 uses are mentioned for the 63 plants. The most cited uses were: dandruff (22 times), hair loss (20), hair hydration (10), acne, teeth cleaning (9), hair shine (8), hair care, hair tonic (7), body cleansing (6), hair cleansing (5), skin diseases, skin blemishes, foot cracks (4), respectively. cited for cosmetic treatment in Brazil, the following stand out: Sarcomphalus joazeiro for dandruff and teeth cleaning, Aloe vera for hair loss and dandruff, Guazuma ulmifolia for hair loss and Persea americana for hair care.
