    Estudo da Síndrome de Ansiedade por Separação em cães na Região Metropolitana do Recife

    This research aimed to analyze the incidence of Separation Anxiety Syndrome (SAS) in dogs at metropolitan region of Recife. For that, a semi-structured questionnaire with multiple choice and open questions about the relationship of the owner with the animal and the behavior of the animal was used. The questionnaires were applied to 90 dog owners from three groups, the Non-Definite Breed (SRD), German Spitz and Shih Tzus. The data were tabulated and presented in percentages, showing worrying information, such as: greater evidence of behaviors of always following the owner in an attempt to be close (84.44%) and sleeping in the owner's room (61.11%), as a positive surprise, where only 20% of dogs bark when alone, behaviors closely linked to (SAS) through a hyperlink between tutor and animals.
