    Esofagotomia cervical em filhote de cão para remoção de corpo estranho - Relato de caso

    The Obligatory Supervised Internship (ESO), developed in the 11th period of the Veterinary Medicine course, was held at the Santa Cândida Veterinary Clinic, in the city of Timbaúba/PE, between August 20th and November 11th, 2021, corresponding to a load 420 hours, under the guidance of Profa. Dr. Grazielle Anahy de Sousa Aleixo and supervision of Dr. Simonne de Albuquerque Ferreira Lima Borba, leading to the deepening of the subjects covered in the classroom, as well as professional development, improving skills, always seeking improvement and growth, with support and the supervision of veterinarians, helping, interacting and thus sharing knowledge. This paper aims to describe all activities performed during ESO, both in clinical medicine, always seeking to learn and elucidate the diseases affected, as well as in surgical clinic, helping and putting into practice all theoretical knowledge and developing necessary skills, discussing approaches surgical procedures and absorbing the knowledge of professionals, who not only supervise but also stimulate knowledge. Among the cases that occurred during the internship, one was chosen to be reported, which was that of a female dog who had a bone lodged in the esophagus for 20 days. After complete anamnesis, it was observed that the symptoms presented were vomiting, dysphagia and inappetence. The patient was referred for complementary imaging tests, which confirmed the diagnosis and esophageal foreign body, the animal underwent esophagotomy surgery to remove the bone. Recovery and healing progressed well and demonstrated that the correct choice of procedure and execution was made, removing the patient's discomfort and restoring her health and well-being. ESO provided the opportunity for professional growth, bringing the doctor closer to the patient, in a natural and responsible way, bringing smoothness by being alongside professionals, learning and developing skills, enabling and preparing the student for the long professional journey to be covered. The internship provided a more relaxed approach to the profession, without the despair of not having experiences, as it offers the professional a background that will be enjoyed throughout their career, in a more assertive and responsible manner.
