    The Streets are the important arteries of movement of people in a city. From this, it is possible to analyze that flooding, or as it is popularly known, flooding or flooding, becomes one of the main problems faced by the population in the city of Recife. This disordered urbanization, characterized in a way by the constructions in inappropriate places, such as hills and slopes, is leaving, more and more, these areas waterproofed, which makes the natural course of rainwater very difficult. With the objective of bringing a reflection on the importance of urban drainage and the paving of the streets, this Course Conclusion Text, through a case study, carried out on Senador Thomaz Lobo street, in the neighborhood of Areias, municipality of Recife / PE, presents the solution used by the City Hall of Recife, to combat the problems encountered in that region, and in a way contribute to the dissemination of good practices recommended for the execution of drainage and paving, in the search for sustainable social development.
