Item Anatomia clínica aplicada à odontologia de cães e gatos(2023-09-18) Ferreira, Mateus dos Prazeres; Andrade, Moacir Bezerra de; Aleixo, Grazielle Anahy de Sousa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3165940085830406; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8254242572414884; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1142105954631842The Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO) comprises a crucial moment in the learning curve of veterinary medicine students, being a moment of challenge for future veterinarians who will put into practice all their knowledge, fundamental to professional excellence. With a view to personal improvement, this report addresses the ESO, which took place between June 1st and August 14th, 2023, with emphasis on the area of Small Animal Surgical Clinic. Divided into two parts, it began on June 1st and ended on the 30th of that month at the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE) under the supervision of M.V. Dr. Robério Silveira de Siqueira Filho and collaborators. Between July 3rd and August 14th of that same year, ESO began to be carried out at the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), in Areia, Campus II, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Felipe Nael Seixas and collaborators. The two experiences totaled the 420 hours required to complete the bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine at UFRPE. Knowledge of the regional anatomy of the head and neck is essential to work in veterinary dentistry and the veterinarian, to be successful in the dental clinic, must become familiar with the very delicate structures of this anatomical region, which is made up of bones of the skull, face and jaw, its joints, innervations, vascularization, glands and adjacent tissues, as well as the lymphatic system. In this way, it is possible for surgical intervention to become much safer and more precise in the care of dogs and cats. As an integral part of this report, the last chapter will consist of a syllabus proposal for the creation of the optional subject entitled “Clinical Anatomy Applied to Dog and Cat Dentistry”, for the Undergraduate Course in Veterinary Medicine at UFRPE. This menu aims to contribute to the scientific and academic community, with the aim of compiling basic and important anatomy concepts for one of the veterinary medical specialties that has been growing the most and gaining ground, which is dog and cat dentistry.Item Cistotomia e ureterotomia em cão da raça Yorkshire pós-obstrução por urólitos - relato de caso(2019-12-10) Fonte Neto, Alberto Amaral Gonçalves da; Aleixo, Grazielle Anahy de Sousa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3165940085830406The Veterinary Hospital (HV) of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE) is formed by several sectors, among which the Large and Small Animal Ambulatory can be cited; Laboratories of Infectious Diseases, Parasitic, Milk and Meat Inspection, General Pathology, Clinical Pathology and Diagnostic Imaging and the Surgical Clinic of Small and Large Animals. The Compulsory Supervised Internship (ESO) was held from August 12 to November 18, 2019 in the Small Surgical Clinic sector. This internship aimed to improve the knowledge in activities directed in the area of Surgical Medical Clinic, specifically in the field of small animal surgery, and to acquire technical knowledge for the completion of the course and obtaining the Bachelor degree in Veterinary Medicine. The completion of the internship enabled the development of the case report entitled: “Cystotomy and ureterotomy in a yorkshire dog after obstruction by urocystolites and ureteroliths.” In this case, the patient was admitted to the HV presenting continuous dysuria, a central reason to lead the guardian to distrust the animal's health condition. Complementary examinations were performed with the intention of finding causes for the reported condition, and it was possible to conclude the diagnosis by ultrasound examination, with visualization of urocystolites and dilation of renal pelvis and left ureter.Item Criptorquidismo abdominal bilateral em um cão associado a sertolioma - Relato de caso(2022-10-11) Silva, Maria Luisa Lagoa da; Aleixo, Grazielle Anahy de Sousa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3165940085830406; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0129826179534290This Undergraduate thesis has been separated into two chapters, where the first chapter presents the activities developed in the Compulsory Supervised Internship (ESO - in portuguese), during the period from July 7th to October 7th, 2022, performed in the area of Small Animal Surgery Clinic at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE), under the supervision of Dr. Robério Silveira de Siqueira Filho and guidance of Professor Dr. Grazielle Anahy de Sousa Aleixo. The description consists of the presentation of the internship site and the report of the assignments allusive to the monitoring of the clinical-surgical routine during the above-mentioned period. Chapter two has an initial part that includes a literature review about cryptorchidism, with emphasis on anatomy and pathophysiology, clinical signs, diagnosis and treatment, as well as complications caused by this condition, in order to introduce the theme to be addressed in the case report of a German shepherd dog affected by bilateral abdominal cryptorchidism associated with sertolioma and prostatic and paraprostatic abscesses. Item Enxerto autólogo em membro anterior de um cão após ressecção de hemangioma – Relato de caso(2022-10-07) Lima, Renata Andrade de; Aleixo, Grazielle Anahy de Sousa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3165940085830406; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8090517796483898Due to the longevity of companion animals, in the series of veterinary clinics and hospitals, a high occurrence of neoplastic diseases is observed in the most diverse species of patients. Tumor resection is one of the procedures of choice for the treatment of oncological disease, and in some cases reconstructive surgery is necessary. The present work aims to report the reconstructive technique of skin grafting, for the correction of a defect generated by the surgical resection of a hemangioma. The surgery of patient Maya, of the canine species, French Bulldog breed, took place during a Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO), performed at Animalis - Surgery and Veterinary Clinic, on July 26, 2022. The skin grafts consist of the transfer of a segment of skin from a donor bed distant from the recipient bed. This type of reconstructive surgery is used in cases of synthesis of surgical wounds in places with little amount or mobility of skin, which makes conventional surgical correction impossible. After planning the surgery and monitoring the postoperative period, the technique used proved to be efficient for the reconstruction of a wound in the left anterior limb after tumor excision. This workload is distributed between theoretical and practical activities in the area of concentration / performance and public health. Due to the pandemic caused by the Coronavirus 2 severe acute respiratory syndrome virus (SARSCOV-2 / COVID-19), the veterinary hospital was closed nine approximately nine months. The area of activity / concentration of the aforementioned work was in Small Animal Surgical Clinic, and the activities were developed at HOVETat UFRPE in Recife, while activities in the public health area were developed in the municipality of Camaragibe. In order to complete this postgraduate course, it is necessaryto prepare a residency conclusion work (TCR) that is presented in an expository manner for the evaluation of a board. The objective of the TCR was to describe the activities developed, both in the area of surgical clinic and in the area of public health, in addition to reporting a case experienced during the residency period. The case was a 70-day-old Pitbull canine, attended at HOVET/UFRPE, presenting a symptomatic picture of regurgitation, diagnosed with esophageal dilatation cranial to the base of the heart, caused by an obstruction, characterizing PAAD. The surgical treatment instituted was ligation and section of the arch, as well as debridement of the surrounding fibrous tissue, to undothe constriction.
